James and Carolyn Teague along with nine other artists met and initiated the formation of the Burlington Artists League in October 1971. The By-laws were adopted, the name Burlington Artists League was officially accepted, and the Teague's were elected as officers of the League in April 1972. The Teague's are still active in the league and are exhibiting members in the gallery.
We are grateful to those who have provided space, for the members of the league, and for those who have given us support. We are excited to be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Burlington Artists League.
The goal of the Burlington Artists League is to welcome all artists, whether they are beginner or professional. We encourage, educate, and promote local artists. The BAL is open to everyone over the age of eighteen, and meetings are on the third Thursday of each month at the BAL Fine Art Gallery.
The Burlington Artists League Fine Art Gallery is a co-op of member artists. Paintings, photography, and 3-D Art are for sale in the gallery. These include watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, woodturning, pottery, leather works, jewelry, and stained glass. There are also floral designs and garden art.
The Burlington Artists League sponsors special exhibits, workshops, and three competitions during the year. The gallery is located at Holly Hill Mall, 309 Huffman Mill Road, Suite 330, Burlington, NC 27215.
